Ünless you’ve been living under a rock since the beginning of last year, then you know Jack Ü is the biggest mayhem maker in all of dance music right now. Skrillex and Diplo’s super-group duo has been making headlines with every little move they’ve made over the last year. From impromptu house parties in Austin, to surprise sets in LA, HARD Summer, Mad Decent Boat Party and everywhere in between, Jack Ü is dominating dance music and it is all culminating to a full-length album which you can expect to finally drop this month.

Mad Decent’s head-honcho, accompanied by Madonna, rubbed shoulders all along the red carpet this past weekend for the 57th Annual GRAMMY awards, and during a short interview with CBS’ Tyler Oakley, Diplo spilled a slew of exciting news. After a little small talk about flashy red carpet threads, Diplo explains his plans with everything he has under the hood.

Wes dishes details on his collaborations with Madge, which are due to be released officially in March. He gets into discussing his other project, the Major Lazer collective, which is slated to drop an album in April along with a star-studded list of contributors. However news of Jack Ü’s highly anticipated album finally reaching the wire might be the most exciting gossip that Diplo shares in the brief yet telling interview.

At the front lines of Mad Decent‘s world domination, delivering his weekly Saturday night shakedown over BBC Radio 1’s airwaves, with block parties, boat parties, and everything in between somehow the main stage mayhem maker still has time to salute loyal fans in the best way possible. To commemorate reaching one million followers on Facebook, Diplo and some of his friends deliver a nine track bootleg pack pro bono that is absolutely loaded with heaters for the coming summer months. The bootleg pack dips and weaves through a grip of genres, leaving no taste unsatisfied. A pulverizing trap gem collaboration with Grandtheft, “Pretty With Her Eyes Low” offers a grimy down-tempo appeal with clean hip-hop sampling and a bombastic break. Party Favor‘s explosive twerk inspired edit of Diplo’s classic rump shaker “Express Yourself” is sure to become a festival anthem. A joint effort with Jeffrees producer Davoodi, “Badman” comes through as a sort of Belgian born industrial hard style techno hybrid.

Wes leaves no stone unturned offering dance hall beats and glitch-hop on the same edit pack, but ultimately that is quintessential Diplo. And with one million thumbs up to prove it, Diplo shows us once again why he is the man.

This collaboration should speak for itself. Steve Aoki, Diplo, and Deorro have teamed up into collaboration to release one insanely huge original, “Freak“. Featuring Steve Bays, this tune has many genres mixed together to deliver one monstrously diverse track. With the slow hard-style beat of Steve Aoki, Diplos trap style, and the irresistible Deorro vibe, the melody is in a constant flux rendering this an incredibly satisfying release. New Orleans’ own BUKU Music + Art Project unveiled its schedule that fuses EDM, hip-hop, indie rock, and everything in between into two short days with 69 acts. With one of the year’s freshest and diverse lineups, its inevitable that BUKU’s schedule is full of overlapping performances forcing festival-goers to make tough decisions.

Friday the 21st’s schedule kick-starts the weekend with instrumental dubstep supergroup Conspirator followed by notorious hip-hop collective Bone Thugs-n-Harmony.  The conflicts get tough, do you see Paper Diamond deliver his soulful blend of bass and trap, hip-hop legend NAS, or New Orleans-native trap star Kid Kamillion? Catch Carnage’s grimy big-room showcase or WAVVES surf-inspired vibe session? Dance music powerhouse pop producer Zedd or pop-rock duo Sleigh Bells? Ellie Goulding or Dusky? How do you choose between Kaskade and Chance the Rapper? Do you cap the night grooving to the kings of dubstep Zeds Dead or with Holy Ghost (DJ set)?! Buku brings the best of all worlds, making festival-attendees to plan their sets carefully.

Saturday, March 22nd brings even more hype and brutal decisions.  The day gets started with Thundercat’s jazzy take on bass music, Mad Decent hotshot DJ Snake, and Schoolboy Q. But then, do you see the legendary Dan Deacon or electro-house maestro Clockwork? It’s painful knowing you can’t be getting funky with both Chromeo and GriZ.

Choosing between forward-thinkers Gaslamp Killer and Friends and Cashmere Cat will also prove to be a gut-wrenching call. Overlap between veteran psychedelic rock band The Flaming Lips and trap music’s most promising young guns Baauer and RL Grime‘s back-to-back effort also highlights just how packed this lineup is. French electro-pop juggernaut David Guetta or Explosions in the Sky? Tyler the Creator or Beats Antique? The Glitch Mob or Danny Brown?

Thankfully though, Buku has also announced a stacked series of after parties to keep the good times rolling after the festivities and into the early morning. Curated after hours parties hosted by the likes of Bassik, Lucky Me, Mad Decent, and Zeds Dead are bound to bring around the clock madness after each night of Buku. Follow up sets by Cashmere Cat, Doctor P, Just Blaze, Valentino Khan, Trippy Turtle and a bunch of guests to be announced add even more hype to one of this year’s most promising festival experiences.

Buku’s schedule announcement comes just a little more than a week prior to the event, giving attendees barely enough time to tweak their set schedules and prepare for an out-of-bounds weekend of good times, packed full of great music.

Some insanely refreshing beats are coming out way. Swedish producer, Elliphant, has released her first single off her debut EP, Look Like You Love It, through Mad Decent, dubbed “Revolusion“. Living all over the world has lead her to create robust material in the studio through her experiences, giving her a noticeably undeniable edge over many other female artists.

The distinct sound she creates through her striking vocals and massive trap drops is surely creating anticipation for her debut EP arriving in no more than three weeks.
