After their most recent remix releases of Adventure Club’s “Wonder” and Foxes “Holding Onto Heaven“, today the rising duo known as The Chainsmokers have pushed their latest remix of Neon Trees “Sleeping With A Friend“. With the vocals of Tyler Grenn on play throughout the track, this remix goes deep into a big-room progressive house drop with a wonderful melody. “Neon Trees, Neon Trees, Neon Trees… Such a dope group, you have to respect a band that has a real identity and doesnt give a fuck what ppl think, oh and they make great music. So when we had the chance to remix their single SWAF we were psyched to have the opportunity. As for the track itself, the vocal is really strong concept and we love, actually fuckin love songs like this. To us song writing is about misdirection or communicating something relatable in a clever authentic way and they nailed it with this one. As for our production we wanted to go a little bigger with this one, something a little more aggressive but with a chunky bassline and fun melody topline to match the vocal…. all in all we think the track winded up sounding pretty awesome’

Recently departing from their killer set at Ultra Music Festival, the rapidly rising duo have released an astonishing remix of Foxes’s original, “Holding On To Heaven“. You may instantly recognize the talented British singers vocals widely known for Zedd’s double platinum single, “Clarity” or Adventure Club’s remix of her “Youth” single. With her stunning vocals largely intact, this Chainsmokers remix features a progressive house vibe fit for any big-room drop. As per usual, the New-York based duo has left us insights on this very latest track. With no set release date in sight (other than release in UK May 4th), stream below until additional updates arrive. Enjoy!

The Thing about Foxes is we Love her… Her vocals are beautiful and effortless and carry such a nice emotional sense of gravity. Its why we think her vocals always do so well with dance music. Holding onto Heaven was definitely a fun challenge for us to remix. The original is very far from a dance track and we wanted to think out of the box and do something unusual with the vocal. Additionally there were so many cinematic parts to the song to use particularly the string. In our remix you will here some vocal transposing that we think adds this very strange but unique edge that cuts through. That paired with our melody and the strong we think we came out with a very dynamic song thats in a constant flux of feeling.

Earlier this morning, Gary Richards aka Destructo began posting clues about the HARD Summer 2014 lineup. After heading over to hardsummer.com, we found nine boxes with spinning question marks.

We’re not sure if all the artists are going to be announced today or as the week continues, but stay tuned! This is going to be big!

UPDATE: Cashmere Cat has been the first artist to fill one of these boxes.

Norwegian musician/producer Cashmere Cat will be making his second appearance at HARD Summer in 2014, and has already been added to multiple festivals across the globe this summer.

Fresh off the crazed releases of “Jealous” and “Selfie“, The Chainsmokers quickly reappear to deliver an astounding remix of Adventure Club’s famed track, “Wonder”. Previously, we have seen T-Mass’s and X5IGHT’s own tasteful takes on this highlight of a track, although The Chainsmokers take quite the different turn. Once again keeping the astonishing vocals of The Kite String Tangle, the track features relaxing, yet upbeat big-room drops accompanied by crisp and delightful builds. The Chainsmokers also provided their insight on Adventure Club and vice-versa below.

Quickie from us: Well we love Adventure club and have admired them for a long time. the guys are personable, make great music and are pretty good looking… In many ways we feel we are the same haha jokes, but Adventure were one of the few artists who reached out to us when we started and were cool and supported our music, so when they hit us up about remixing Wonder our fav track off their last album we couldn’t resist, that and we want to collab with them so we really had no other option. That said, we think the remix turned out great, we actually see a little bits of our previous work in it, little nods to Around us and Julian. In the end we hope we did the track justice infusing it with a tasteful amount of uptempo progressive house while still remaining true to our style.”

Keeping all the original vocals untouched, they perfectly tie in their indie progressive house vibe making it an indisputably well-produced dance track. Quickie from us: “Chromeo is one of those groups that really define a genre and time in music. For us their take on electronic music really served as a foundation for our tastes in production. Dave1’s effortless vocal work that always feel as cool as it sounds, paired with the incredible melodies and instrumentation from Gemayel these guys really crushed. So when we were contacted to remix Jealous we honestly felt like we had a song that we felt could be as big as Daft Punk’s, Get Lucky . After it was said and done, we were so happy with the remix we created. It gave the song that house dance feel, but didn’t feel forced at all. The song seemed to have this great level of space and pacing and nothing felt unnecessary. The more we produce the more its about doing more with less, and this for us nailed that theory. The song effortlessly flows like good Chromeo songs does but achieves that unique Chainsmoker energy…
