In keeping with the theme of Australia killing it in 2014, Sydney native Craig Williams just released the Saw Throat EP courtesy of Sweat It Out Records. SIO is home to other Aussie names like What So Not and Yolanda Be Cool.
While most of the acts hailing from Australia tend to produce “melbourne bounce”, Williams’style is more akin to tech house. The two-track EP features the title track, Saw Throat, and the B-Side MTC 100.
Saw Throat has a bouncy house vibe that reminds me of an Erol Alkan/Boys Noize collaboration. I’m personally a bigger fan of MTC 100 which utilizes a solid vocal synth and is remniscent of Gesaffelstein.
Saw Throat is recommended for fans of Dirty Bird, and Chicago style house.
