Avila's El RanchitoAvila's El Ranchito

Orange County is known for it’s amazing dining. You could pick a different place to eat each day for years and always have new places to try. While Yelp can give you a clue as to where to begin, you can’t always select based on yelp scores and in cities further away. Check out these known great Mexican Restaurants.

AVILA’S El RANCHITO MEXICAN RESTAURANT

Starting out in 1966 El Ranchito has continued to expand. One of their best locations is Corona Del Mar which offers great views of the beautiful cars that travel up and down PCH. But what about the food! The chips and salsa are extremely addicting, although be warned, they’re spicy. Their combination plates offer one or two choices along with beans and rice. They also cater!

EL TORITO GRILL

Not to be confused with a similar sounding chain, El Torito GRILL isn’t just for regular dining, they also offer Taco Tuesdays, and an amazing Sunday Brunch. Quite spendy, the bunch is unforgettable. Their tableside guacamole sounds pretty mundane but it’s both a great show as they prepare it tableside and is pretty addicting. Another thing they are known for is their fresh-prepared tortillas. They prepare them at the front of the restaurant and the kids enjoy watching them being made and receiving samples.

NAUGLES

Naugles operated from 1970 to 1995 before becoming Del Taco. For fans of Del Taco, you might want to try the NEW Naugles. While this might not be the same exact place as it was originally, it’s definitely got originality vs. the other taco chains. Read about this exciting tale of a fan bringing back their beloved brand. While there are two locations, try

Naugles by the Beach
21351 Pacific Coast Highway
Huntington Beach

which is located next to the pier and goes well with the incredibly long boardwalk/bike path where people enjoy biking, rollerblading, jogging, and more. Park anywhere near and ride your bike there along the beach.

MORENO’S RESTAURANT

Another place to consider, especially for Taco Tuesday is Moreno’s. Their tacos drop to only $2.00 on Tuesdays. Grab a bunch of them and take them to go. Located near Chapman College and Old Town Orange, plan a day of it, and check out the historic Old Town area featuring

and if all else fails, try the nearest Del Taco. a much better alternative to Taco Bell, especially if you’re new to the area.
