Australian up-and-comer Flume has had an incredible year and is only topping it off with this awesome collaborative EP with Chet Faker. Lockjaw, out now on Future Classic, is definitely a step in a different direction for Flume, especially on tracks like “This Song Is Not About A Girl,” which sounds like a slow building, 8-bit, 80’s love song in the vein of The Cure.
Even tracks like “What About Us,” that have hints of the Flume we know and love seem to have a more chill and relaxed vibe, definitely straying away from the love trap/hip hop sort of beats the Australian producer has been putting out over the past year.
Overall, Lockjaw, is a great EP to blast on a rainy day when you’re snuggling with your SO, or maybe lightly crank up after a weekend of heavy partying.
