Diplo says Jack Ü’s Album is Due This Month

Ünless you’ve been living under a rock since the beginning of last year, then you know Jack Ü is the biggest mayhem maker in all of dance music right now. Skrillex and Diplo’s super-group duo has been making headlines with every little move they’ve made over the last year. From impromptu house parties in Austin, to surprise sets in LA, HARD Summer, Mad Decent Boat Party and everywhere in between, Jack Ü is dominating dance music and it is all culminating to a full-length album which you can expect to finally drop this month.

Mad Decent’s head-honcho, accompanied by Madonna, rubbed shoulders all along the red carpet this past weekend for the 57th Annual GRAMMY awards, and during a short interview with CBS’ Tyler Oakley, Diplo spilled a slew of exciting news. After a little small talk about flashy red carpet threads, Diplo explains his plans with everything he has under the hood.

Wes dishes details on his collaborations with Madge, which are due to be released officially in March. He gets into discussing his other project, the Major Lazer collective, which is slated to drop an album in April along with a star-studded list of contributors. However news of Jack Ü’s highly anticipated album finally reaching the wire might be the most exciting gossip that Diplo shares in the brief yet telling interview.

Adult Swim shares the Birth of Captain Murphy

With Flying Lotus‘ highly anticipated 5th studio album You’re Dead! slated for release in October the hype train of promotion has begun.

Yesterday saw the release of a truly trippy album trailer followed by Adult Swim’s release of Captain Murphy’s origin story.

For those unfamiliar, Captain Murphy is the moniker sported by FlyLo when he jumps behind the mic and starts to rap. Despite only releasing music as Murphy for three years, the Captain has a unique flow that smashes other crossover artists.

If you didn’t catch Childish Gambino’s cringe-worthy short film Clapping for the Wrong Reasons, one of the only redeemable moments is a Captain Murphy freestyle that evokes the styles of MadLib and Earl Sweatshirt.

Adult Swim is actually where Flying Lotus got his start so it’s fitting that the animation team over there has put together something of a backstory for the rapper/producer. Episode one aired yesterday and I am assuming there will be more as the episode ends with an engimatic “To be continued.”

To put even more fuel in the hype train, Captain Murphy released the new track “Cosplay” via Adult Swim’s soundcloud. You can take a listen below.

WATCH Dillon Francis & DJ Snake Get Low Music Video

Mad Decent poster boys Dillon Francis and DJ Snake are back with their new video for “Get Low,” a song that has been taking the year by storm being played in mix after mix and festival set after festival set.

The video depicts the two DJs as Egyptian princes, suiting for the Middle-Eastern-sounding track. Throughout the video, Dillon and Snake make it rain on some super fine dancers who know how to get low — really, really low.

Since Phoenix-based rapper/producer Miny has been on our radar, she’s come out with video after video, each more magnificent than the last. Her most recent video for “Expensive,” is no exception. Featuring hot girls on bikes, choreographed dancing, and even some sorcery, Miny’s newest video is by far the best we’ve seen yet.

The track itself for “Expensive” is impressive, even by Miny‘s standards. Featuring a bouncy Trap beat transitioning into a Baltimore/Jersey Club vibe, “Expensive” is a booty-bouncing tracks that you want to listen to over and over again.

HARD Summer 2014 Delivers Their Best Lineup to Date

LA-born party powerhouse HARD is back with their 2014 summer edition, and this year the festival is announcing what could be their biggest roster to date. Known for delivering an eclectic, genre-blending lineup in each of its major events across the country, HARD Summer always sets the bar, and this year, the bar is set higher than ever. The lineup has been tantalizingly slow to release, building tension as each early announcement randomly appeared on hardsummer.com over the last few weeks. Wave Racer, Cashmere Cat, Seth Troxler and DJ Snake lead the way, but with today’s announcement, the flood gates are open.

Skrillex is quite on the roll. Recently releasing his wildly popular Recess album and playing a killer Ultra Music Festival set with Diplo, his first official music video goes to none other than, “Ragga Bomb“. This heavy dubstep tune featuring Ragga Twins, who were also featured in “All Is Fair In Love And Brostep“, has been known to jaw-drop many of his fans. The sheer production of this video is quite impressive to say the least. Featuring the insane gritty dubstep sound that makes everyone in the music video move to the beat, it finishes off with a crazy lightsaber fight scene.

Chromeo – Jealous (I Ain’t With It) [Official Video]

The Funklords known as Chromoe have released yet another video for a track off the upcoming White Women album.

This time, we get the official music video for the poppy single “Jealous (I Ain’t With It)” which depicts Dave 1 and P-Thugg acting as wedding chapel employees who marry happy couple after happy couple, much to Dave 1’s dismay.

Eventually, however, Dave 1 snaps and steals a bride away with P-Thugg acting as his accomplice. Who gets the last laugh? Watch the video and find out!

The Turn Down For What Music Video is Perfect

Earlier this year we saw one of the worst music videos ever made with Billy Ray Cyrus‘ “Achy Breaky 2”. Now we have what could arguably be called the greatest music video ever made. Ok, that’s taking it a bit far but the Turn Down for What music video from DJ Snake and Lil’ Jon is pretty freaking cool.

It’s got everything you could ever want from the medium. Hardcore daggering, bunny hops, butt suplexes, and mechanical genitalia.

I would explain it more deeply but I think we’ll let the video speak for itself.

Skrillex Announces Mothership Tour 2014 Dates

Fresh off the Takeover Tour and days after his AMA on Reddit, Skrillex has announced his Mothership Tour 2014 dates. With support from Dillon Francis, DJ Snake, Milo & Otis, and What So Not, Skrillex and friends will be heading on a 19-stop summer tour across North America on what will be one of the most anticipated tours of late.
